Course Adoptions



Writers in Classrooms: Red Hen believes that having an author come discuss his or her work with students, in a classroom setting, can be a valuable educational tool. Whenever possible, we are happy to arrange visits by our writers to classes studying their work. Most such visits take place within driving distance of an author’s home; however, many of our writers maintain active touring schedules, and are occasionally available to students in distant lands. If you would like more information about arranging for a Red Hen author to come to your classroom, please email marketing@redhen.org. It never hurts to ask.

Examination Copies: Teachers of the world! If you are considering using a Red Hen title in your classroom, examination copies are available for $5. Please make your request on school letterhead and describe the course for which the title is being considered. If you would like more information about Red Hen titles in general, our catalog is available as a PDF.

Desk Copies: We are pleased to provide desk copies, free of charge, to instructors who have adopted a title for classroom use. Send your request on official school letterhead listing your school’s address, course name, anticipated class enrollment, and class starting date.
