Doug Lawson’s latest book is Bigfoots In Paradise, a collection of short stories, about which writer Antonya Nelson wrote “These stories are funny, moving, full of the natural world and its wonders… A very satisfying read.” Doug’s won a Distinguished Story citation by the Best American anthology, received an Honorable Mention from the O. Henry Awards, and won Glimmer Train’s yearly Fiction Open, a Henfield award, and a Transatlantic Review Award. Michelle Damiani is a writer, psychologist, and food lover currently living in Charlottesville, Virginia. She is the author of Il Bel Centro: A Year in the Beautiful Center, a memoir that chronicles her year living in Italy with her husband, three children, and two cats. Her daily life in Umbria later inspired her novel, Santa Lucia. Written in sweeping telenovela style, Santa Lucia is nonetheless grounded in the green heart of Italy.
