9:00am – 12:00pm: Workshop
12:00pm-1:00pm: Kate Gale and Marketing Discussion (Brown Bag Lunch)
Why write a memoir or personal essay? How much should you reveal? How do you edit yourself? How do you get out of your own way when you write? How do you market your work and get published? This workshop will address these questions, offer inspiration along with concrete advice, and also give twelve students with work-in-progress the time to read the opening pages of their work for feedback.
Over lunch there’ll be a marketing discussion and Q & A with Kate Gale, co-founder and managing editor of Red Hen Press.
