Given the high volume of submissions we receive, please expect a response time of three to twelve months. We appreciate your patience. Phone calls, emails, and letters will not speed up the process and are strongly discouraged.

Course Adoptions & Desk Copy Requests

Writers in Classrooms: Red Hen believes that having an author come discuss their work with students, in a classroom setting, can be a valuable educational tool. Whenever possible, we are happy to arrange physical visits, call-ins, web conferences, and other modes by our writers to classes studying their work. If you would like more information about arranging for a Red Hen author to come to your classroom, please email marketing@redhen.org

Desk & Examination Copies: If you are considering using a Red Hen title in your classroom, kindly send your request on official school letterhead listing your school’s address, course name, anticipated class enrollment, and class starting date. Please email marketingassoc@redhen.org .

Permissions, Foreign Rights, & Film Rights

Permissions and Subsidiary Rights: For academic permissions or course permissions, please include the name of the desired piece and the expected enrollment for the course. To republish a piece or selection in an anthology, please include the name of the desired piece, the expected print run, the expected page count, and the expected retail price of the anthology. Email your requests to marketingassoc@redhen.org.

Foreign Rights: Queries about foreign rights representation, right scouts, availability of rights for specific countries, requests for PDFs, and to set up appointments during the Frankfurt, London, Beijing, and/or Guadalajara Book Fair, please contact media@redhen.org.
