Two impressive new poetry books by Alaska women bring the fullness of their lives — their griefs, joys and questions — into artful contemplation and play. Both books are the authors’ firsts, although the work itself developed over lifetimes. Most of the poems first appeared in literary journals, a testament to the high regard granted them by editors. Both poets have also won Alaska Literary Awards from the Alaska Arts and Culture Foundation.
