When reading the poetry of Mason, one comes to an understanding of a universality in all things. Similar, yet not, to Spinoza’s philosophy that the universe itself is God and all creations in it are of God. Mason brings the reader on journeys through space, time and distance. It is the calming voice of the poet that brings each line and each image to the forefront that belies the lyrical intensity until the reader is simply stunned.
