Petra Eiko
Petra Eiko, currently a resident of California, was born, raised, and educated in Germany, where she worked in the fields of architectural and fashion design. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, continually fascinated by the varieties and similarities in people, cultures, and lifestyles she has witnessed. Early on, she chronicled her travel experiences in letters home to her father, articulating her many impressions and discoveries, one of which was that despite the myriad differences in how people live around the world, they all face the same fundamental problems and difficulties.
That insight, along with her lifelong curiosity about human nature and the workings of the mind, led her to spend many years reading a broad spectrum of philosophical, scientific, and metaphysical texts, all in the attempt to find the answer to the questions, Why are we the way we are? What is the foundation of happiness? After pouring through complex books, Eiko realized that the answers could be distilled into simple truth, easily accessible to those of us living in today’s fast paced world. On a mission to promote a happier life, Eiko, created eight slim values which comprise her Seeds of Truth. She offers a fresh synthesis of ancient philosophy, modern science, and metaphysics in an entertaining, humorous, and concise form.
Inspired by the publication of the first hard cover book of the Seeds of Truth series, Heart, Eiko, recently launched the-green-heart, a project appreciating efforts for a better understanding or environmental awareness, inviting people to take part.
In 2004, Eiko received the Honorary Citizenship Award of Busan, Korea, for her accomplishments in poetry.
